Sending Transcripts and Grades If you have applied to any post secondary institute, you need to authorize for your marks to be sent by the Ministry of Education, in order to do this see below!! Go to the BCiED site You will need: Personal Education Number (PEN) Full Legal Name Date of Birth Email address Follow these steps.... To authorize your marks to be sent to Post Secondary Institutes: -Click on “Send/Order your Transcripts” Click on “I consent” box -Under “Send Your Transcripts to university/post-secondary”, click on “Send Transcripts” -Select all institutions that the student is applying to, using the pull-down for different provinces, so that all PSI’s show up on the right side. -Submit, then change the message from send transcripts ‘now’ to “Send Interim and Final Marks When Available” (in May and July) UBC and SFU will ask you to do -“Send now and allow this PSI to request” so that they can access your marks earlier. -“Go” to view, review your list of PSI’s, and “Submit Order”
Note: *You get to send to 10 schools for free, after that, there would be a cost. *The Post-Secondary Institute will tell you what they need to see (self-report, digital upload from student, digital PDF from school, paper version - stamped and sealed, etc.) *Be sure to follow what they are asking for! This should be done by Christmas, even if you are not sure which schools you will go to. UBC and *SFU will ‘pull’ your marks from this site beginning in January.
What grades do I report? --Most Canadian PSI’s will use the Term 2 Interim marks, as verified by the Ministry transcript that is sent directly to your ‘consented’ PSI’s in May. PSI’s will usually ask you to self-report or send a PDF before that May transcript so that they can make decisions earlier. ---Sometimes, PSI’s will base their decisions on Term 1 marks, but this varies. Many universities across Canada will pull the marks from the Ministry site (as long as you have given consent through the Student Transcripts site!), and others will ask that you self report, send a transcript or Electronic PDF. ---A few PSI’s will base their decisions on grade 11 marks, but will see your transcript to verify that you have kept your marks in the same range.
Universities will rely more on Grade 11 marks, especially for those grade 12 courses that fall in the first semester! As in all years, the "Conditional Offer" will not be confirmed until FINAL marks have been sent in July. However, Conditional offers may begin much earlier.
